Mood and Anxiety Symptom Questionnaire (MASQ)
The Mood and Anxiety Symptom Questionnaire (MASQ) is a 77-item self-report questionnaire that assesses depressive, anxious, and mixed symptomatology.
Three scales measure General Distress:
depressive symptoms (12 items)
anxious symptoms (11 items)
mixed symptoms (15 items)
There are also anxiety-specific (Anxious Arousal, 17 items) and depression-specific scales (Anhedonic Depression, 22 items). Higher scores reflect greater levels of symptomatology (Watson et al., 1995). For the current analysis, we used the Anxious Symptoms scale.
